Marco Giacomelli
Marco Giacomelli heads Generali Global Health (GGH), the Generali group’s dedicated provider of International Private Health Insurance solutions for globally mobile people and groups.
An actuary with a 20+ year career at Generali, Marco is the former Chairman of the International Employee Benefits Association (IEBA), and a Fellow of the UK Institute of Directors.
Marco joined Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. in 1994 as a reinsurance specialist in the Life Department of the Generali HO in Trieste, Italy.
His international career started in 1996, with assignments of increasing responsibility in the USA, Latin America, Philippines, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
Marco’s primary areas of expertise are Life & Health insurance, Employee Benefits and Bancassurance.
In 2014 Marco was given the responsibility to establish Generali Global Health, a new business unit to enter the international private medical insurance market, which he has been leading since its launch on January 2015.
