Shady Nawar
Shady Nawar is Head of Health & Benefits for Bupa Global Middle East. He has been with the Bupa since 2010 and prior to this he was a TPA Development and Contracting Manager.
In his current role, Shady is responsible for the management and development of a huge medical provider network in the Middle East. In line with Bupa Global’s customer strategy he is responsible for optimizing the expenditure of medical benefits working closely with hospitals and health providers in region
Shady also internally champions the customer needs to ensure they receive the best claims and clinical experience.
He is well-recognized for his market knowledge, industry expertise and a strong grasp of the regulatory framework in the Middle East region
Prior to joining Bupa in 2010, Shady was Assistant Vice President – Provider Management, at Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) in Qatar, and Unit Head of International Network & Abu Dhabi Government at Daman, in Abu Dhabi.
In his previous roles, Shady developed strategies to provide the best value healthcare at QIC and Daman, established the development metrics across the region, ensured the implementation of the health insurance law within the government hospitals and was the key point of contact for providers.
Shady has an MBA degree from University of Leicester, School of Management, UK and a degree in the Principles of Health Insurance from the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance. He is also a science graduate in Clinical Pharmacy from the Tanta University in Egypt.
Shady loves spending time with his family. He is a swimming enthusiast and a movie buff.
