Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG), one of the largest providers of comprehensive healthcare services in the Middle East, will set up a AED400-million ergonomically designed multispecialty hospital at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) as part of expanding its existing operations at the integrated healthcare free zone, announced Dr. Ayesha Abdullah, Managing Director of Dubai Healthcare City.

One of the first healthcare providers to move into DHCC in 2007, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group’s enhanced presence in DHCC comes as part of its aim to sustain its status as one of the fastest growing provider of healthcare excellence in the region. The new facility will also contribute to Dubai’s medical tourism objectives through offering premier treatment by widely-experienced health specialists.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of Arab Health 2012, which opened on 23 January and will run until 26 January at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group’s new 200-bed hospital will aim to personalize, humanize and demystify the patient experience. In addition to endorsing the highest medical design standards, the new facility will be fitted out with cutting-edge technology to offer niche services across multiple specialties. It will particularly harness the latest in robotic surgery technology into operating room quarters that will be ’designed by surgeons for surgeons’.

Apart from delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, the hospital will integrate specialties of vascular medicine, cardiology and radiology in an unprecedented manner. An entire wing will be dedicated to maternity services, while the cardiac unit will be equipped with a state-of-the-art CAT Lab. A total of 30 beds will be allocated to critical care at the hospital that will provide a range of room categories as well as a plush royal suite.

In an effort to deinstitutionalize the building, the interiors will reflect a cheerful, airy and unconfined ambience. From the warm hues painted throughout the building to the private rooms with their own balconies, the hospital will stand out with its innovative approach.

Dr. Ayesha Abdullah said: “We are delighted to announce the plans to build the new multispecialty hospital by the Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group in DHCC. The facility will further complement and diversify Dubai HealthCare City Authority’s offerings and the level of treatment provided in the destination. More importantly, it reiterates the standards of healthcare quality and excellence endorsed across the free zone and takes us a step forward in positioning the UAE as a medical tourism hub in the global landscape.”

Dr. Sulaiman Abdulaziz Al-Habib, Founder and Chairman of Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group, said: “We are proud to announce our expansion plans; the decision to enhance presence at the healthcare free zone comes from the increased demand for quality healthcare and distinguished expertise. Our continued investment in DHCC also reflects our commitment to contribute to Dubai’s leadership vision of providing world-class healthcare services in the region, which is in line and supportive of our objectives. We would like to thank Dubai Healthcare City Authority for offering us relentless support and facilitating our rapid growth.”
